The '90s saw singers like Mariah Carey, Gloria Estefan, Shania Twain, Celine Dion and Whitney Houston introduce some of today's most downloaded pop music songs.

During the 90s, more women singers appeared on pop music charts than in any prior decade.

Mariah Carey has 19 of the top 75 most requested hits on Pop Culture Madness survey for songs from 1990 to 1999 - more hits than any other female solo artist.

The Pop Culture Madness database tracks fan demand for pop songs, updated with current requests to ensure an accurate snapshot of the most popular hits for each year tracked in the survey.
